You will often need to let a staff member or an agency manage your profile. Sharing your Google password is risky. Adding them as a user is safe and easy to undo. The video shows exactly how.
Steps
- Open your profile on Google Search while signed in as an owner.
- Open the three-dot menu, choose Business Profile settings, then People and access.
- Choose Add, enter the person's email address and pick a role.
- They receive an invitation and must accept it.
The roles
- Primary owner: one person with full control, including deleting the profile and removing other owners. This should be you.
- Owner: can do almost everything, including adding and removing users.
- Manager: can edit information, reply to reviews and post updates, but cannot remove the profile or manage owners. This is the right role for staff and agencies.
Safety rules
- Never make an agency the primary owner.
- Use work email addresses where possible, so access does not leave with a person.
- Review the list regularly and remove people who no longer need access.
- If someone else has claimed your listing, use the request access option and Google will contact the current owner.
When we manage profiles for clients, we always ask for manager access only. Check what your profile is missing with the score checker.
