New reviews, customer messages, edits suggested by the public and policy warnings all arrive as notifications. If they are off, you can miss a bad review for weeks or lose a customer who messaged and heard nothing. The video shows how to switch them on in about a minute.
Steps
- Sign in and open your Business Profile on Google Search.
- Open the three-dot menu and choose Business Profile settings.
- Choose Notifications.
- Turn on email and mobile notifications for reviews, customer messages, Google updates and edits.
Each manager controls their own notification settings, so ask everyone who looks after the profile to do this too.
Which ones matter most
- Reviews: reply within a day or two, especially to negative ones.
- Customer edits: anyone can suggest a change to your hours, phone number or address. Check these so a wrong edit does not go live.
- Messages and calls: if chat is on, reply quickly. Slow replies can lead Google to hide the chat button.
- Policy and verification alerts: act on these immediately.
