A suspended profile disappears from Google Maps or stops accepting edits, and calls can drop overnight. The good news: many suspensions can be reversed if you fix the cause and ask properly.
Common reasons for suspension
- Keywords in the business name: “Sharma Dental Best Dentist Rewari” instead of your real name.
- Address problems: virtual offices, shared addresses, or an address where you do not actually operate.
- Service-area errors: showing a home address when you visit customers.
- Sudden or repeated edits: many changes to name, category or address in a short time.
- Duplicate profiles for the same location.
- Restricted categories that need extra checks, such as some financial, legal or home services.
How to request reinstatement
- Read Google’s Business Profile guidelines and find what your profile breaks.
- Fix it: correct the name, address or category; remove duplicates.
- Gather evidence: business registration, GST certificate, utility bill at the address, and photos of your signboard and premises.
- Submit the appeal from your Business Profile or Google’s appeal form, attaching the evidence.
- Wait and do not keep editing. Reviews usually take from a few days to a few weeks.
What not to do
- Do not create a new profile for the same business; it can make things worse.
- Do not submit misleading documents.
- Do not appeal repeatedly without changing anything.
How to avoid future suspensions
- Keep your name exactly as on your signboard and documents.
- Make big changes one at a time.
- Keep at least two owners on the profile.
- Keep details consistent with your website and directories.
