If you serve several cities, a page for each can help you rank locally. But copying the same page and changing only the city name creates “doorway pages”, which Google treats as spam.
What makes a city page useful
- Real local details: areas covered, response times, local team or office.
- Projects or customers in that city, with photos.
- Reviews from customers there.
- Local pricing differences or availability.
- Directions or a map if you have a location there.
- Local FAQs, such as permits or regulations specific to that area.
Structure
- H1: [Service] in [City].
- Short intro about serving that city.
- Services offered there.
- Local proof: projects, reviews, team.
- FAQs.
- Contact and call to action.
Clean URLs
Use simple URLs like /locations/gurugram/; create them with our URL slug generator.
Only create pages for real service areas
Do not create pages for cities you do not actually serve.
Link them sensibly
Link city pages from a locations hub, and from relevant service pages and blog posts.
Add structured data
If you have a physical branch there, add local business schema with our schema generator.
See our own locations pages, and read how to rank in multiple cities.
