A complete profile gets more views and more calls than a half-filled one. These short videos go through the checklist we use when we take on a new client. Use the list below to check your own profile.
The basics
- Business name exactly as on your signboard, with no extra keywords.
- Correct primary category, plus a few relevant secondary categories.
- Address with pin code and an accurate map pin, or service areas.
- Phone number that is answered, and website link.
- Regular hours, plus special hours for festivals and holidays.
Details that build trust
- A description of up to 750 characters that says what you do, for whom and where.
- Services or products listed with short descriptions and, where possible, prices.
- Attributes such as wheelchair access, payment options and women-led.
- Opening date.
- At least 10 photos: exterior, interior, team, work and products. Add new ones every month.
Activity
- A post or update every week.
- Replies to every review.
- Notifications switched on.
- Questions answered where the feature is available.
Safety
- You are the primary owner; agencies and staff are managers.
- Your name, address and phone match your website and other directories exactly.
The bonus tip
The third video adds a bonus tip. Whatever you change on the profile, change it on your website too. Local business schema helps Google see the same details in both places. Our local business schema generator creates that code. Then run the profile score checker to see what is still missing.
