Browser privacy features, app tracking prompts on phones and blocked cookies mean Meta can no longer see every conversion. Ads Manager results are often lower than reality.
What changed
- Many phone users opt out of app tracking.
- Browsers restrict third-party cookies and tracking.
- Ad blockers stop the Pixel on some devices.
What to do
1. Set up the Conversions API
The Conversions API sends events from your server or platform to Meta, filling gaps the browser Pixel misses. Shopify and many platforms offer simple integrations. Read Pixel and Conversions API.
2. Send good customer data
With consent, sending hashed email and phone with events improves matching. Check your Event Match Quality in Events Manager.
3. Install events correctly
Generate standard event code with our Pixel event generator.
4. Use your own data
- UTM tags on every ad link, built with our UTM link builder.
- “How did you hear about us?” on forms and calls.
- Compare total sales with total ad spend.
Respect consent
Tell visitors about tracking in your privacy policy and cookie notice. Read India’s DPDP Act for marketers.
