Visual cues are subtle signals that lead the eye to what matters, usually your form or main button.
Types of cues
- Eye direction: a person in the image looking towards the form or headline.
- Arrows and lines: pointing to the button.
- Contrast: the button in a colour used nowhere else; check with our contrast checker.
- White space: space around the button isolates it.
- Containers: a box or card around the form.
- Motion: a subtle animation, used sparingly.
Use them sparingly
One or two cues per section is enough. Too many arrows and animations feel cluttered.
Respect accessibility
Avoid motion that cannot be turned off, and do not rely on colour alone.
