Design catches attention, but words persuade. Many business websites talk about themselves instead of what customers need. Good copy flips that.
1. Know who you are writing for
Write for one type of customer at a time. What problem do they have? What are they worried about? What words do they use?
2. Lead with the outcome
| Weak | Stronger |
|---|---|
| We are a leading interior design firm | Move into a finished home in 45 days, on budget |
| Quality dental services | Painless root canals, done in one visit |
| Welcome to our website | Fresh tiffin delivered daily across Gurugram |
3. Say what makes you different
Why you and not others? Faster, cheaper, specialist, guaranteed, local? Find yours with our USP generator.
4. Use “you” more than “we”
Talk to the reader directly about their situation.
5. Be specific
“500+ homes painted since 2015” beats “many happy customers”. Numbers, names and details are believable.
6. Answer objections
Price, time, risk, trust. Address them with guarantees, FAQs, reviews and clear pricing.
7. Clear calls to action
Tell people exactly what to do next with button text like “Get a free quote” or “Book a site visit”. Design buttons with our CTA button generator.
8. Make it easy to scan
Short paragraphs, headings, bullet points and bold key phrases.
