A verified badge next to your business name on WhatsApp shows customers your account is authentic. Many businesses ask for the “green tick”, but it is not available to everyone.
What the badge means
It indicates that Meta has verified the business account. Meta has been changing how verification badges work across its apps, including a paid Meta Verified option for businesses. Check the current options in WhatsApp Manager or with your provider.
Who is usually eligible
- Businesses with a verified Meta business portfolio.
- Businesses using the WhatsApp Business Platform (API), or eligible for Meta Verified.
- Notable brands, often with press coverage and public recognition, for official business account status.
- Accounts with a good quality rating and two-factor authentication.
How to apply
- Complete Meta business verification.
- Set up your WhatsApp business profile with display name, logo, description and website.
- Apply through WhatsApp Manager or your provider, or subscribe to Meta Verified if available to you.
- Wait for Meta’s decision. Applications can be declined; you can usually reapply later.
If you are not eligible yet
Customers trust businesses that look professional and reply quickly. You can build that trust without a badge:
- A complete business profile with logo, address and hours.
- A consistent display name matching your brand.
- Your WhatsApp number shown on your website and Google profile.
- A QR code poster at your counter; create one with our opt-in poster maker.
