WordPress SEO plugins such as Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO make SEO easier. You can manage titles, descriptions, sitemaps and schema without code.
What they handle
- Title tags and meta descriptions per page.
- XML sitemaps.
- Canonical tags.
- Noindex settings for certain page types.
- Basic schema markup.
- Social sharing previews.
Settings to check
- Install only one SEO plugin; two can conflict.
- Set your site name and logo for schema.
- Choose which content types appear in search; usually noindex tags and author archives on small sites.
- Check the sitemap URL works and submit it to Search Console.
- Set default title formats.
- Connect Search Console if the plugin offers it.
Write titles and descriptions per page
Do not rely only on defaults for important pages. Draft them with our meta tag generator.
Do not chase green lights
Plugin scores are guides, not rankings. A page can rank well with an “orange” score and poorly with a “green” one. Focus on helpful content.
Check WordPress settings too
Make sure “Discourage search engines” is unticked. Read the noindex tag.
If you are not on WordPress, generate a sitemap with our sitemap generator. See our WordPress development service.
