The questions and answers section lets people ask about your business on Google, and lets you answer in public. Done well, it works like an FAQ that sits right on your listing. In the video we show how to add common questions and answer them as the owner.
Why it matters
Customers want quick answers before they call: Is there parking? Do you take card payments? Do you open on Sundays? Anyone can post an answer, including people who have never visited, so it is better that the owner answers first and correctly.
How to add questions and answers
- Open your profile on Google Search or Maps while signed in as the owner or manager.
- Find the Questions and answers section and choose Ask a question.
- Type a question customers really ask, then post your answer from the owner account.
- Repeat for the five to ten questions you hear most often on the phone.
Writing good answers
- Keep answers short and factual.
- Answer the exact question, then add one useful detail.
- Do not paste phone numbers or links; they may be removed.
- Check the section monthly and report spam or wrong answers.
If you cannot see the section
Google has been changing this feature and it is not shown for every business or every region. If it is missing on your profile, use the same answers elsewhere. Put them in your business description, services list, Google posts and an FAQ section on your website. FAQ content on your own site also helps search engines and AI assistants understand your business. Our FAQ schema generator creates the code for that page.
Then check what else your listing is missing with the profile score checker.
