Updating content you already have is often faster than writing new posts. Old pages may have links and history; they just need to be more accurate and helpful.
Find pages to refresh
- Search Console: compare the last 3 months with the previous period and sort pages by clicks lost. Calculate drops with our percentage change calculator.
- Pages ranking in positions 5–20, close to page one.
- Posts with outdated prices, dates, screenshots or rules.
What to update
- Facts, prices, statistics and platform changes.
- New sections answering questions that now appear in search results.
- Better examples, photos and real experience.
- Title and meta description.
- Internal links to newer pages.
What not to do
- Change only the date without real updates.
- Change the URL unnecessarily.
- Remove sections that were bringing traffic.
Merge thin posts
Several short posts on the same topic can be combined into one stronger guide, with redirects from the old URLs.
