Reviews drive sales and rankings on Amazon. But Amazon strictly prohibits manipulating reviews, so use only allowed methods.
Allowed methods
- Request a Review button: in Seller Central order details, sends an Amazon-standard review and feedback request.
- Automated requests through Amazon-approved tools that use the same system.
- Amazon Vine for eligible brands. Read Amazon Vine.
- Product inserts that ask neutrally for honest feedback, without incentives or asking only for positive reviews.
Not allowed
- Offering discounts, refunds or gifts for reviews.
- Asking only happy customers to review.
- Friends and family reviews.
- Paying review services.
- Asking customers to change negative reviews in exchange for something.
Violations can lead to listing removal or account suspension.
Earn better reviews
- Accurate listings so expectations match reality; write them with our description generator.
- Good packaging.
- Quick resolution of problems.
Lower returns often mean better reviews; model them with our return rate calculator.
